DISTRICT SEVEN BULLETIN BOARD FOR YOUR INFORMATION AND INVITATION Letter from Area 4 Commander:
IVINS VETERANS’ HOME Veterans’ Coalition of Southern Utah
Working Together for All Veterans
FUND RAISING COMMITTEE Bill Stay, Chairman (435) 656-1331
Dear Post Commanders and Members;
Enclosed is a letter (see tab on left of page) we intend to send out to raise money for the new Veterans’ Nursing Home. It would be nice to have one in every community but the State can not afford it, Washington County was chosen for two reasons. The first being the number of Veterans living there verses the number in the rest of the nine Counties the home will serve. The second reason is the climate and elevation of Washington County.
We need to raise almost $500,000 to upgrade the furnishings for those who will be spending probably the last years of their life here on earth. The government provides each room with modest furnishings. On a scale of 1 – 5, 1 being the best and 5 being the lowest. They provide a 3. No television but there will be cable for each room. We want to provide a large TV and upgrade the bed and a comfortable easy chair. All furnishings have to be approved to meet the fire code of the government.
We would appreciate any help you can give us in this endeavor. You can help solicit those in your community that might be willing to help. If you would like to use the enclosed letter you may copy it or we can send you copies.
There is urgency in raising the money since the feds will mach our funds by almost two to one what we raise between now and July 15th.
Please let me know how many letters and pre-addressed envelopes you can use.
Still serving those who served,
Bill Stay I have attached information about the veterans park for Sun River in St George. I am suggesting that you consider purchasing a brick for your Post. It is something that will be there forever.
Best Regards, Brick Arnie Nathan |
