Incentive Program                       

“Pride and Purpose” Pin and American Legion Lapel Pin

During the 2008-2009 membership year, National Commander Dave Rehbein will award his National Commander pin to any Legion family member who signs up at least five new members or renew/reinstate five current members into The American Legion.  Any Legion family member who accomplishes both tasks will also receive an American Legion lapel pin.

A “New Member” is defined as any eligible person joining for the 2009 membership year who was not a member of The American Legion during the 2008 membership year.

National Commander Rehbein’s goal is to recognize those in the Legion family who actively recruit new members into the world’s largest veterans’ service organization and/or who personally contact members to renew for the 2009 membership year.  To maintain the integrity of the National Commander’s Pin and American Legion Lapel Pin incentive program, only one of each will be awarded per individual.

The certification form for this program may be submitted at any time after August 28, 2008.  Upon receipt, national membership staff will confirm the names and mail the pin and/or lapel pin within three weeks.  National Commander Dave Rehbein’s “Pride and Purpose” pin and American Legion lapel pin incentive will end on June 30, 2009 - or when supplies are exhausted.
